Extend the life of mild steel with SeaTEC100

Since 1978, NiTEC have been committed to research and development in the field of metal plating.  In recent years, we have developed a new and exciting innovation within the engineering industry, SeaTEC100.

SeaTEC100 can extend the life of mild steel operating in marine environments. It is also a very cost effective way of doing so. Developed and tested by our specialist team at NiTEC, this product is able to protect mild steel from salt spray corrosion for an unprecedented length of time.

Perfect for use in sub-sea conditions, SeaTEC100 increases the strength of items such as pipeline connectors, where the material is at its weakest level.

Mild steel in marine environments

SeaTEC100 can effectively plate metal components, valves and connectors, making it a cost-effective and efficient way of extending the life of mild-steel used in marine environments. It is also the ideal plating for oil rigs and pipes used to transport oil and gas. SeaTEC100 has also been tested to withstand salt spray conditions for over 25,000 hours, longer than any other coating has been tested for within the industry with positive results.

Nickel Plating Components for Rolls-Royce Oil and Gas Division

Electroless nickel plating is of course our speciality here at NiTEC. Our capacity for electroless nickel plating large parts cannot be matched in the UK. We were recently approached by Rolls-Royce with the prospect of electroless nickel plating a component for their oil and gas division.

Of course famous for making high quality cars, Rolls Royce are also world leaders in providing power
systems and services for use at sea, on land and in the air.

Rolls-Royce’s energy business supplies gas turbines, compressors and diesel power units to customers around the world and is a world leader in the supply of power for onshore and offshore oil and gas applications.

Operating in four major global market sectors, marine, energy, civil aerospace, and defense aerospace, we were of course delighted to help such a large and successful company.

If you would like to receive updates and news from NiTEC regarding exciting projects such as this electroless nickel plating for Rolls-Royce, why not ‘Like’ our Facebook page, or follow us on Twitter?

UK Electroless Nickel Plating Specialists

As specialists in the electroless nickel plating process, NiTEC have tanks up to 10 meters in length with a lifting capacity of up to 20 metric tonnes.

This length and lifting capacity are unique to NiTEC. No other electroless nickel plating company in the UK have tanks of this size. The maximum competitive solution is actually only 3 meters in length. We have the facilities and expertise to plate parts for large applications.

Our turnaround time for all of our services cannot be beaten. We have 5 production lines and the capacity and speed to turnaround work very quickly. Our standard lead time is 5 days, but we have been known to turn parts around within 24 hours. Our competitors in the metal plating industry offer a 3-5 week lead time.

Here at NiTEC, we also offer supporting finishes for our plating services which include bright tin plating, matt tin plating, bright copper plating, shot blasting and heat treatment.

Despite our speciality in plating large components due our large capacity tanks, we also take on much smaller jobs and will happily plate all sizes of component no matter how small. As a metal plating company, we regularly electroless nickel plate components such as small pins and connectors, as well as large castings which may weigh up to 25 tonnes.

NiTEC’s range of treatments, metal finishes and coatings can be applied to a wide range of component types and environments, ranging from very hot to very cold conditions, environments with high levels of pressure, very dry or wet conditions.

To find out more about the range of metal finishes that we offer including electroless nickel plating, diffused nickel plating, copper plating, shotblasting or heat treatment, visit the NiTEC website for more information, call us on 0845 224 3571, or email us at info@nitec-enp.co.uk.

Electroless Nickel Plating ‘The Spaceman’ : Part 1

Here at Nitec, we are specialists in electroless nickel plating, we and have lots of experience in metal plating outdoor sculptures.

The size of our nickel plating tanks are unrivaled in the UK and we can plate objects, sculptures and components that other UK nickel plating companies simply wouldn’t be able to.

David Mach is a recent artist that has taken advantage of our nickel plating services. Working primarily in metal, David Mach has produced a number of metal sculptures, and chose the process of nickel plating for his ‘Spaceman’.

‘The Spaceman’ had been made out of wire coat hangers, so the surface was very irregular. Also, the process of welding the hangers together had removed some of the existing zinc coating on them. The process of electroless nickel plating effectively covered the whole of the sculpture, despite the unusual surface texture.

Electroless nickel plating is an affordable solution for sculptures of this size, produces high quality results, and is extremely corrosion and wear resistant.
